Proprietatea de clusterizare a seismicitatii subcrustale vrancene

Analize si discutii despre gruparea epicentrelor/focarelor cutremurelor vrancene, in special a celor foarte adanci. Continuare din vechiul forum.

Am discutat si pe forumul vechi, impreuna cu real32, despre proprietatea de clusterizare a seismicitatii subcrustale vrancene. O sa reluam si aici analiza, fiindca sunt niste aspecte interesante, Realitatea obiectiva este ca exista o proprietate intrinseca de grupare spatiala a focarelor seismelor subcrustale vrancene. Avem, de exemplu:
-gruparea NEHOIU-SIRIU din Muntii Buzaului;
-gruparea GURA TEGHII-LOPATARI din Muntii Buzaului;
-gruparea PIETRELE INSIRATE, de-o parte si de alta a limitei dintre Muntii Buzaului si Muntii Vrancei;
-gruparea de la Vest de NEREJU;
-gruparea COMANDAU-COVASNA;
-gruparea VINTILEASCA.

In aceste clustere se produc, de obicei, cutremure adanci (h > 125-130 km). Cele mai adanci cutremure (h > 140-160 km) sunt, evident, cutremurele vestice. Totusi, alaturi de focarele foarte adanci, apar zone difuze cu seisme mai putin adanci, sa zicem pe la 90-110 km, chiar si in Muntii Buzaului. Asa s-a intamplat in cazul cutremurului de 4,8 grade de la 10 septembrie 2014 (epicentrul fiind plasat intre gruparile de la PIETRELE INSIRATE si, respectiv, GURA TEGHII). Sau in cazul cutremurului mai mic de duminica seara, care a avut epicentrul in zona GURA SIRIULUI, unde de obicei se produc cutremure foarte adanci. Deci e ceva intrinsec Vrancei, ceva care s-a manifestat si acum 10 ani, si acum 20 de ani, s.a.m.d.
Cutremurele mai putin adanci (h = 70-110 km) apar mai ales in capatul de Nord-Est, cele mari toate avand sursele acolo. Totusi sunt posibile cutremure mici si moderate pe partea centrala si chiar la Sud-Vest, dar distribuite mai difuz, de obicei pe langa sau intre clusterele de cutremure mai adanci.
 
Clusterul PIETRELE INSIRATE: localizat pe partea central-vestica a ariei seismogene vrancene, de o parte si de alta a limitei dintre judetele Vrancea si Buzau. Coordonatele geografice sunt urmatoarele:
45,635+/-0,035 grade latitudine Nordica
26,475+/-0,075 grade longitudine Estica
Adancimile tipice pentru acest cluster sunt foarte mari: 140-170 km. Totusi, din cand in cand mai apar si cutremure cu focare la 120-140 km, si chiar la 100-120 km. In acest cluster s-a produs cutremurul vrancean moderat din 14 mai 2005 (ML=5,6, adancime 148 km). Incepand din 1960 s-au produs mai multe cutremure moderate cu magnitudini de 5,5+ in acest cluster, la adancimi de 140-160 km.


Clusterul GURA TEGHII-LOPATARI: localizat in Muntii Buzaului, la Sud/Sud-Vest de clusterul PIETRELE INSIRATE, in judetul Buzau. Coordonatele geografice sunt urmatoarele:
45,52+/-0,07 grade latitudine Nordica
26,49+/-0,10 grade longitudine Estica
Adancimile tipice pentru acest cluster sunt 120-140 km dar si 140-160 km. Din cand in cand se mai produc si cutremure cu focare la adancimi mai mici de 100-120 km, dar cu magnitudini relativ mici. In secolul XX nu s-au inregistrat instrumental cutremure moderate (cu ML 5,5+) in acest cluster, dar s-au produs doua cutremure puternice la 6 octombrie 1908 (MGR 6,75, adancime 125 km) si 30/31 august 1986 (MGR 7,0, adancime 131 km).


Clusterul NEHOIU-SIRIU: localizat in Muntii Buzaului, la Sud-Vest de clusterul GURA TEGHII-LOPATARI, in judetul Buzau. Coordonatele geografice sunt urmatoarele:
45,43+/-0,07 grade latitudine Nordica
26,32+/-0,07 grade longitudine Estica
Adancimile tipice pentru acest cluster sunt 140-170 km, dar mai apar din cand in cand si cutremure cu focare la adancimi mai mici, de ordin 120-140 km, mai rar la adancimi mai mici de 120 km. Se cunosc doua cutremure moderate inregistrate instrumental ca avand sursele in acest cluster: cutremurul din 8 noiembrie 1940 (magnitudine 5,5 si adancime 145 km) si cutremurul din 28 aprilie 1999 (magnitudine 5,7 si adancime 151 km).
 
Este oarecum interesant faptul ca clusterul GURA TEGHII-LOPATARI (care nu a generat cutremure moderate, ci doar doua cutremure puternice in 1908 si 1986) este inconjurat de doua clustere in care sunt inregistrate in perioada instrumentala numai cutremure moderate: PIETRELE INSIRATE si NEHOIU-SIRIU.

Este oarecum interesant faptul ca clusterul GURA TEGHII-LOPATARI (care nu a generat cutremure moderate, ci doar doua cutremure puternice in 1908 si 1986) este inconjurat de doua clustere in care sunt inregistrate in perioada instrumentala numai cutremure moderate: PIETRELE INSIRATE si NEHOIU-SIRIU.
Cum delimita?i aceste trei clustere buzoiene ?ntre ele? Exist? ni?te f??ii de separare, de o l??ime semnificativ?, ?n care nu se plaseaz? niciodat? epicentre ale unor seisme (ad?ncimea focarelor nefiind totu?i ?n acest caz un criteriu clar de departajare)?
 
Criteriul spatial este utilizat in acest caz, deci clusterizare pe criteriu spatial. E vorba de faptul ca epicentrele si focarele tind sa fie grupate sau concentrate in anumite locatii. Practic clusterele seismice corespund acestor concentrari. Sigur ca seisme apar si in afara lor, dar in numar mai mic. In general, clusterizarea este procesul prin care mai multe obiecte sunt grupate pe criterii de similaritate, in vederea optimizarii unei functii obiectiv. Revenind la cazul Vrancei, este de notat ca in ultimul secol cutremurele mari s-au produs numai in clustere din capetele blocului litosferic.
 
Clusterul VINTILEASCA: localizat in Muntii Vrancei, in partea central-estica a ariei seismogene, in judetul Vrancea. Coordonatele geografice sunt urmatoarele:
45,64+/-0,045 grade latitudine Nordica
26,70+/-0,055 grade longitudine Estica
Adancimile tipice pentru acest cluster sunt 100-125 km, dar exista o grupare relativ ingusta de cutremure mai adanci, cu focare la adancimi in jur de 135-140 km, asa cum a fost, de exemplu, cutremurul din 13 decembrie 2005 (ML=5,3 si adancime 137 km). Este de remarcat ca gruparea ingusta de cutremure mai adanci din acest cluster este inconjurata de focare mai putin adanci (la 100-120 km si chiar la 80-100 km adancime).

Multumesc pentru precizari! Gruparea seismelor majore pe capete ar putea conduce la ideea unei miscari de ansamblu, de scufundare a intregului fragment de legatura cu scoarta a blocului paleosubdus, rupturile cele mai violente fiind la contactul cu vecinatatile aderente sau comprimate in el. Aceasta reechilibrare a situatiei, de pe urma unei subductii finalizate instabil, genereaza aparent si o rotatie, care implica ridicarea muchiei din curbura lantului muntos si scufundarea zonei Galatiului. De fapt, la capetele acestei axe de inclinare sunt de asteptat si seismele crustale semnificative, ceea ce este logic. Pe capetele axei cvasi-perpendiculare, le avem pe cele subcrustale. De remarcat si faptul ca aceasta axa a subcrustalelor lucreaza diferit la cele doua capete, pe de o parte la adancimi diferite, dar - lucru ce mi se pare semnificativ - si cu cicluri de repetare si magnitudini diferite. In timp ce la nord-est avem clar un ciclu mare de aprox. 275 de ani, subdivizat in cicluri de 137 si 68 de ani, iar seismele majore de aici depasesc frecvent 7,1 grade, la sud-vest ciclul mare pare fragmentat in cicluri mai scurte si neregulate, iar magnitudinile nu depasesc de regula 7,1.
 
Aici trebuie notat marele cutremur buzoian din 1738. Dupa acest eveniment toate cutremurele din SV au avut magnitudini MGR de cel mult 6,8-7,0. Nu e ceva nou, s-a vazut si la altii o situatie in care dupa un mare cutremur produs pe un anumit segment, sa urmeze o perioada de cateva sute de ani cu evenimente mai mici pe segmentul respectiv. Urmatoarele cutremure din Muntii Buzaului, produse in 1790, 1829, 1894, 1908 si 1986 au avut magnitudini de cel mult 7,0 grade pe scara Gutenberg-Richter, fata de 7,4-7,5 cu cat este cotat marele cutremur de la GURA TEGHII din 11 iunie 1738. Deci de interes ar fi un cutremur major pe clusterul principal din Muntii Buzaului, zona GURA TEGHII-LOPATARI.
 
In multe cazuri, clusterizarea se realizeaza si intr-o maniera ierarhica, de fapt, in functie de aplicatie/natura datelor, se admite ca un cluster mai mare este constituit din mai multe sub-clustere mai mici. In cazul cutremurelor vrancene, sa vedem ce e cu seismele centrale din zona NEREJU.

Clusterul NEREJU: localizat in Muntii Vrancei, in partea centrala a ariei seismogene, in judetul Vrancea. Coordonatele geografice sunt urmatoarele:
45,70+/-0,05 grade latitudine Nordica
26,65+/-0,05 grade longitudine Estica

In acest caz s-ar putea distinge, de fapt, mai multe sub-clustere, diferentiate in functie de adancimile focale in care se grupeaza hipocentrele respective, dar si de unele variatii spatiale intra-cluster, mai la Est sau mai la Vest de NEREJU. Astfel, mai spre partea estica a acestui cluster tind sa domine cutremurele cu focare mai putin adanci, la 70-110 km sau 100-120 km, cutremurele cu focare mai adanci de 125 km fiind mai rare. In partea mai vestica, sa zicem cam la 8-10 km Vest de NEREJU (45,70 grade latitudine Nordica, 26,60 grade longitudine Estica, locatie cvasi-centrala a epicentrelor cutremurelor din Vrancea) apar atat cutremure mai putin adanci (cu focare la 80-120 km adancime), cat si cutremure mai adanci, mai jos de 120 km, uneori chiar si foarte adanci (cazuri de cutremure cu focare la 140-160 km). Cutremurul moderat din 25 aprilie 2009 (ML=5,7) a avut focarul la adancimea de 110 km, iar coordonatele epicentrului au fost 45,68 grade latitudine Nordica, 26,62 grade longitudine Estica. Cutremurul din 1 august 1985 (ML=5,6), cu focar la 93 km adancime, a avut epicentrul localizat la 45,73 grade latitudine Nordica, 26,62 grade longitudine Estica; aceasta locatie este foarte apropiata de cea a epicentrelor cutremurelor din 24 septembrie si 28 decembrie 2016 (ML=5,3 si adancimi focale 92 km, respectiv 98 km): 45,71 grade latitudine Nordica, 26,60 grade longitudine Estica. Iata insa si doua cazuri de cutremure foarte adanci cu epicentrele situate in clusterul central de la NEREJU, un pic spre Vest, dar oricum din aceeasi grupare mare: cutremurul din 6 aprilie 2000, ML=5,5, adancime 143 km, coordonate geografice 45,75 grade latitudine Nordica, 26,64 grade longitudine Estica; cutremurul din 18 iunie 2005, ML=5,4, adancime 154 km, coordonate geografice 45,72 grade latitudine Nordica, 26,66 grade longitudine Estica.
 
Cutremure mici sau chiar moderate se produc si intre clusterele principale. Iata, de exemplu, cazul cutremurului din 6 octombrie 2013: ML=5,6, adancime 135 km, localizare 45,67 grade latitudine Nordica, 26,58 grade longitudine Estica. Spuneam ceva mai demult ca acest cutremur a avut epicentrul intre epicentrele cutremurelor din 2005 si 2009, deci intre clusterul principal de la PIETRELE INSIRATE si clusterul principal de la NEREJU; si adancimea focala s-a incadrat intre palierul tipic pentru PIETRELE INSIRATE si cel tipic pentru NEREJU.
 
In cazul cutremurelor foarte adanci din clusterul PIETRELE INSIRATE (cu focare la adancimi in jur de 140-160 km), am putea observa o ritmicitate interesanta in cazul cutremurelor moderate cu ML 5,5+.
Incepand din 1960, se remarca alternanta unor perioade cu succesiune mai rapida a cutremurelor din clasa 5,5+ cu perioade de 10-15 ani in care lipsesc aceste cutremure:

Deci: 1960, 1966, pauza de 10 ani, apoi 1976, 1981, 1987, pauza de 14 ani, 2001, 2005, pauza de 12 ani (pana acum). Cutremurul din 1960 a incheiat o perioada de 10 ani fara cutremure moderate din clasa 5,5+; perioada 1950-1960 a corespuns cu o etapa de "stabilizare" a Vrancei, dupa activitatea foarte intensa din anii 1929-1950. Deci tendinta de schimbare este marcata de aparitia unui cutremur moderat pe clusterul central-vestic de la PIETRELE INSIRATE. Sa vedem cand reincep cutremurele moderate in clusterul PIETRELE INSIRATE...na ca am facut si o poezie.

Sunt foarte interesante aceste cutremure moderate din grupul PIETRELE INSIRATE, ele se produc de obicei la adancimi foarte mari, intre 140-166 km. As mai remarca doua subgrupe de cutremure: unul cu focare in jur de 140-145 km, celalalt cu focare concentrate spre 160 km, si care sunt generate, se pare, la marginea Nord-Vestica a clusterului. Avem o probabilitate destul de mare ca urmatorul cutremur vrancean moderat cu magnitudinea ML 5,5+ sa se produca in clusterul PIETRELE INSIRATE, de asemenea probabilitate mare sa fie foarte adanc, la 140-160 km. Oare ar putea veni chiar de la 160 km ? Cutremurele cele mai adanci, produse la adancimi de 160-166 km, s-au produs in 1960, 1981 si 1987. Cutremurele din 2001 si 2005 s-au produs la adancimi mai mici de 150 km. Ramane de vazut, in orice caz in mod normal trebuie sa urmeze, din nou, un cutremur moderat foarte adanc la PIETRELE INSIRATE. Perioada care a trecut de la cutremurul din 2005 este comparabila, ca lungime, cu perioadele 1966-1976 si 1987-2001.
S-ar parea ca intervale de timp cu lungimi de 10-15 ani separa perioadele in care se produc mai des cutremure foarte adanci in zona PIETRELE INSIRATE (ML=5,5-5,7).
 
Pana acum am discutat despre clusterizarea spatiala, care se refera la grupari de epicentre/focare, mai ales in cazul cutremurelor foarte adanci (mai jos de 130-140 km). Sa vedem cum e si cu clusterizarea temporala, care se refera la faptul ca seismele cu magnitudini peste anumite praguri tind sa apara mai mult in cadrul unor succesiuni de evenimente la intervale de cateva zile-saptamani. De fapt, cred ca clusterizarea temporala are oarecum legatura cu cea spatiala, fiindca ar rezulta din succesiunea reactiilor unor clustere seismice diferite la producerea unor evenimente subcrustale in clustere vecine. De exemplu, din lista cutremurelor cu ML 4,0 produse in perioada 1982-2017, putem observa ca cele mai multe dintre cutremurele vrancene cu ML > 4,5 tind sa apara in cadrul unor succesiuni de evenimente in intervale de la cateva zile la maxim 2 saptamani, precedate sau urmate de pauze seismice mai lungi. In cazul cutremurelor moderate cu ML 5,5+, vedem ca acestea intotdeauna sunt precedate sau/si urmate de alte cutremure cu magnitudini de cel putin 4,6 grade:
